Knuffingen Airport miniature airport!

This post is a little different from the usual here, but it is so different I thought I would share it with you...

Below is a YouTube video that was shared with me recently of Knuffingen Airport, claiming to be the world's largest model airport/ railway. Apparently, it is built at a 100:1 scale and is pretty much fully functioning... yep!

The video only shows the airport part of the model, so I'd be at a loss to guess how big the entire place is!

This link [click here] is to the news article where I first saw this, with the video embedded below.

Enjoy!

Dude, that is frickin' unbelievable! I keep looking at the video and photos, I can't believe the sheer complexity and attention to detail.. Wunderbar!!

Unbelievable. Almost wants to make me give up model trains. Better yet, incorporate model aircraft!

I'm guessing the trains are commercial HO (1:87.1) as are the road vehicles and structures. Lots of pre-built models, kits, and parts available.

Aircraft models are readily available in 1:72 and 1:96 so 1:100 is very likely.

Would love to visit.

But if you do have too much time and money on your hands, this is a good why to remedy that situation :-)
