The CEO and the Dak

That's not the title of a b-grade novel, but actually two very interesting aircraft.

Firstly, I went flying today in the Club's Cessna 172S, ZK-CEO. I believe that this is a 2004/ 2005 model, and is equipped with a Bendix King GPS, an autopilot and airbags in the seatbelts. Being a later model aircraft it has 180hp and flies comfortably at 115-120 knots.

The main reason for flying it today was just to familiarise myself with the autopilot, as I'm likely to use this aircraft for my night cross country training [planned for the next fine night!].

The Dak refers of course to the Douglas DC3C-S1C3G, ZK-AWP, operated by Air Chathams. I wasn't expecting to see it here today, so only saw it after landing. The Dak has been to/ from the Omaka airshow which had a practise day today. What an nice airplane!
