Aircraft nationality marks

Now, spot quiz... can anyone tell me how come New Zealand has 3 allocated nationality marks? There's the familiar ZK, but I see that there are also ZL and ZM. Any ideas what these have/can be used for?

    I think that it has something to do with aircraft that don't need to be registered...

    I may be completely wrong, but I think I have come across this before. Radio callsigns also rings a bell, but I can't find any proof to back up my vague recollection...

    I was going to say, they're not aircraft registrations as such but rather radio call signs. I remember at primary school we had a visit from a ham radio operator who had a call sign like ZL3AM2 or similar.
