Classic Fighters 2009 #12: Bell 47 Sioux

A short, but entertaining, display was put on by 2 RNZAF Bell 47 Sioux helicopters. The Sioux is the RNZAF's basic helicopter trainer, and was the first helicopter type to be used by the air force.

From 2011, these aircraft are due to be replaced by the AugustaWestland A109LUH.

I can't help but hear the M*A*S*H theme song in my head whenever I see these helicopters... you'll either understand that one or not... I'm not explaining! Lastly, note the final picture with the 2 Bells 47's and the Messerschmitt Bf 108/Nord 1002 Taifun in the background.
