Wellington Aero Club has shifted over the past couple of days. Not far - in fact, just down the road to our "new" hanger and office complex at 24 George Bolt St, Rongotai, Wellington. It's easy to find - right near the big red The Warehouse at the Lyall Bay shopping centre. Here's a map:

You may need to zoom in a bit, but when you do, you'll see that we are easy to find. Our location is even more convenient for the locals to pop in to see what we are about and perhaps book a trial flight. There's parking onsite, so just look for the big yellow Wellington Aero Club signs.
We are just finishing off some of the interior redecorating but it should mostly be finished in the next 2-3 weeks. Once finished, much of the office space with be accessible without needing to go airside, and we'll still have some of the best views of the action on the airport available!

A quick flight in an SR22
I wasn't planning on going for a flight today, but was offered a flight in a Cirrus SR22, ZK-YUG, in exchange for a few aerial photos of some buildings. All good, although a bit lumpy at times with the wind increasing, and not entirely comfortable with a succession of steep turns with my head buried in the camera viewfinder... Oh well, photos taken and we headed back after around 30 minutes.
Here's an extra photo I took - this time of Zealandia: The Karori Sanctuary Experience. Enjoy!

Beech BE76 Duchess
Nothing much happening today, but I did get some pictures of an Ardmore Flying School Beech BE76 Duchess taking off. Hopefully the weather will be slightly better tomorrow, although I don't hold out much hope of that!
