This final post from today is of the latest addition to the Sounds Air fleet, a Pilatus PC12/45, ZK-PLS. This is the aircraft type that Sounds Air will use to start their Westport to Wellington service on 28 April [that day that Air NZ abandons the route].
The photos are not very good - I was at the wrong end of the runway to capture the arrival so the first photo is heavily cropped. It climbed so fast on departure [I'm guessing only 2 people on board] that I only got the underside. Oh well, one day!

I was at the south end this afternoon and managed to get some reasonable shots of her taking off, was definitely a surprise seeing her!
ReplyDeleteI work near Jandakot airport in perth, see these things shooting round all day, little hot rods
ReplyDeleteMichael - I imagine I'll be able to get better photos once the regular routes start.
ReplyDeleteAnon - are these RFDS machines in and out of Jandakot or other operators? I believe that both machines that Sounds Air have purchased are ex-RFDS aircraft.
