Kerikeri to Auckland and Taupo to Wellington

Kerikeri to Auckland was on Monday evening. As with the arrival, this was on an Air Nelson-operated Bombardier DHC-8-311, ZK-NEC. Here are two photos of the aircraft arriving at Kerikeri.

Earlier this evening [Thursday], after a few days of driving down to visit various work locations, I had a flight from Taupo [NZAP] to Wellington. Air NZ has withdrawn from this route as it retires their Raytheon B1900D's from service.

Sounds Air has recently taken up the route after acquiring some Pilatus PC12/45 aircraft, including ZK-PLZ. This would be my first flight in a PC12 and I've been looking forward to it.

The flight is only about 45 minutes long and as you'll see form the photos, it was an awesome day to be flying. There were only a few clouds and mild turbulence as we arrived into Wellington. The only issue was the position of the sun... if it had been morning, I'm sure the airborne photos would have been fantastic... oh well! I've decided that the PC12 is a nice aircraft for these reasonably short routes. The seats were comfortable [although mine was a little short on leg room], we came back at FL200, so above any weather [had there been any], it was reasonably quiet inside, the crew were polite and professional and we were on time. All good!

Anyway, here are the photos of the PC12 and the trip home. Enjoy!
