A quick visit to Auckland today - post 3 - Various aircraft in Auckland

The final 3 three posts in this series are of some of the aircraft I saw at Auckland. The photographs were taken at two spots - the top level of a car park and from the viewing spot in the international terminal. I'm pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to get "good" photos from behind the glass in the international terminal.

Auckland/ Ardmore Visit - Post 3 - Auckland International

After the fun and games of catching up with people and going for a flight over Auckland, it was time to head back to Wellington. I made sure I got to Auckland International in plenty of time and took the opportunity to get a few snaps while I was there.

This first post contains a few pictures of international aircraft. Top to bottom are:

Auckland Quick Visit Sep 2010 #6: Airbus A340

Next up on the list of aircraft types seen at Auckland are some Airbus A340's. These aircraft are from Emirates, LAN, Aerolineas Argentinas, Cathay Pacific and Air Tahiti Nui. I particularly liked the Air Tahiti Nui pictures - I think that they have one of the best "regular" aircraft paint schemes - so I've put in two of those.

Different aircraft at Auckland

As I mentioned in my last few posts, it's good to get away every now and then and see some different aircraft. With Auckland being New Zealand's busiest "passenger" airport [others like Ardmore have more movements], it was always likely I would see something different.

Here are two pictures of a Qantas Airbus A330 during its landing roll, and an Aerolineas Argentinas Airbus A340 taxying for departure. Apologies for the [lack of] quality of the A340 picture - dirty glass and distance are the enemy of photographers!

Auckland heavy metal... awesome!

Here is a selection of the "heavy metal" I photographed from the viewing area [just off] Auckland International Airport. This is the type of traffic mix that we don't get at Wellington and so it is good to see from time to time. Top to bottom are:
