Club trip to Masterton - from microlights to turbofans

Masterton aerodrome is one of those places that is really nice to fly from. On any given day there can be microlights, helicopters, agricultural aircraft, turbines, parachutists, reproduction WW1, and genuine WW11 fighters. Brand new trainees, right through to experienced airline pilots. Quite a mix.

Today was fairly quiet, but there was still some variety. As examples, take a look at the following from a couple of hours in Masterton earlier today:

Tecnam P2002 Sierra, ZK-MVT, registered to Wairarapa & Ruahine Aero Club
de Havilland DH82a Tiger Moth, ZK-BLV, registered to a Wellington address
Piper PA18 Pacer, ZK-BKV, registered to Ace Aviation
British Aerospace Jetstream 31, ZK-JSH, registered to Vincent Aviation
Cessna 510 Mustang, ZK-PGA, registered to Pacific Jets

New year visitors

Finally the weather settled down today, long enough for a few flights at the aero club today [although, unfortunately not for me].

Just a couple of visitors noted, the first being a Cessna 510 Citation Mustang, ZK-PGA, registered to Pacific Jets of Christchurch. The second was a Piper PA38-112 Tomahawk, ZK-EVC, registered to Marlborough Aero Club.

Today's aircraft

There was no flying for me today, but I did see some interesting aircraft come through. The first of these brought people to Wellington for today's All Blacks vs Canada Rugby World Cup game. These aircraft are Cessna C510 Citation Mustang, ZK-PGA, registered to Pacific Jets Ltd of Christchurch, followed by Piper PA34-200T Seneca, ZK-SFC, registered to Air Gisborne Ltd. Lastly we have Cessna 402C, ZK-VAD, registered to Ridge Air of Richmond.

Also happening today was a display by the RNZAF Red Checkers display team, supporting the Navy's 70th anniversary celebrations in Wellington. One of the Checkers team landed in Wellington so here are some photos of Pacific Aerospace Corp CT4/E Airtrainer, NZ1991.

Enjoy!

More Cessnas and a Beechcraft

There was no flying for me today [I still need to pay for the last lot!], but there were a number of visitors to be seen as I was hanging around the club.

The first is a Cessna 182S, ZK-LKM, registered to a Wanganui address. I understand that this aircraft has been doing a bit of touring around. The second and third aircraft are Cessna 172's, ZK-RWC [a C172B registered to a Mahia address] and ZK-EFF [a C172N registered to Motueka Aero Club].

The final Cessna is a C510 Mustang, ZK-PGA. This is registered to NZ Jet Charters Ltd/ Pacific Jets at a North Shore City address.

The last aircraft in today's line-up is Beechcraft BE76 Duchess, ZK-JED, registered to Ardmore Flying School.
