Two Airbus' and two Boeings

This second-last post from my recent Auckland visit has four large aircraft - two Airbus' and two Boeings. First up the Airbus aircraft.

We start with am Emirates-operated Airbus A380-800. This picture shows quite nicely that there are  thrust reversers on the inboard engines only.

Next up is an Airbus A330-223, B-LNF, which is operated by Hongkong Airlines. This is the second time I have seen this aircraft - the first time was back in September 2011, at Chep Lap Kok [Hong Kong airport]. I really like the livery on these aircraft.

Now on to the Boeings. This first one is a Korean Air-operated Boeing 747-8I, HL7642. I think this is the first of these large Boeings I have photographed.

Last up is a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, operated by Thai Airways International.

Europe Trip 2011 #2: Hong Kong aircraft - 1

A stopover in Hong Kong [even if only a couple of hours] provides for a much greater variety of aircraft and airlines than we normally see in Wellington - and as far as the airlines are concerned, in New Zealand.

This next set of posts detail some of those aircraft. In this post, the aircraft are as follows:

Boeing 747-346, HS-UTW, registered to Orient Thai Airlines
Airbus A330-322, HS-TEJ, registered to Thai Airlines
Airbus A330-322, HS-TEL, registered to Thai Airlines

Auckland Quick Visit Sep 2010 #13: Boeing 777

I have fond memories of the Boeing 777, having flown with Air New Zealand to Heathrow via Hongkong. It was a very comfortable, exciting and yet relaxing flight.

Here are a few of the B777's I saw over the two days, from Air New Zealand, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Malaysia Airlines and Thai.

Europe Trip #1: Wellington to Heathrow

Well, the big trip has started [actually, it started several days ago, but I have only just come in contact with reliable, accessible, WIFI]. The flight to London Heathrow [ICAO code: EGLL] was on Air NZ via Hongkong International/ Chek Lap Kok [ICAO: VHHH].

Perhaps, surprisingly, the trp from Wellington [NZWN] to Auckland [NZAA], Hongkong [VHHH] and London Heathrow [EGLL] went surprisingly well. The service on Air NZ is superb [even in cattle class], and with the aid of some magic pills, I was extremely tired that evening in England, but had virtually no jet lag the next day! The IFE [In Flight Entertainment] system on the Air NZ Boeing B777 was excellent and managed to keep me more or less entertained for the entire trip, even though I only managed 4 hours sleep in total!!

As the flight from Wellington [and therefore Auckland] was in the dark, I have no photos from them, and I have nothing [well, one, below] from Heathrow yet as I was in a rush to join the immigration queue. I did get some photos during our brief pitstop in Hongkong, as follows:

Apologies for the lack of details for most of these aircraft - I may fill in more in the next few weeks, but at the moment, I am working on a 7-7.5 inch screen. Ouch! :-)

Air France Boeing B777?
Thai Airways Airbus A330
Orient Thai Boeing B747, HS-UTN
Cathay Pacific Boeing B747
Air New Zealand Boeing B777-200ER, ZK-OKB
Orient Thai Boeing B747 [same aircraft as above], HS-UTN
Air Macau Airbus A330??, B-MAB
Hongkong Express B737
Emirates Airbus A380 :-) - OK, I great advertising hoarding!

Enjoy the pictures! More from the trip to come in the next few days!
