The most interesting sighting was this Fokker F27-500 Friendship, ZK-PAX. This is registered to Airwork Flight Operations and is commonly used to carry the mail around New Zealand overnight. In this case, it is being towed into a Vincent Aviation maintenance hanger [I'm not sure what the reason is]. I vaguely recall flying on one of these from Wanganui to Taupo and Auckland many, many years ago.
The second aircraft is an Air2There Cessna 208 Caravan, ZK-MYH. This was parked up outside the aero club for a while.

Hi Rodney
I've done plenty of hours in NAC/ANZ Friendships, though always down the back unfortunately (apart from one visit to the cockpit in flight, not likely to happen these days!).
I don't think PAX was ever in the NAC/ANZ fleet; their regos were ZK-BXx and ZK-NAx. Info at

Thanks Andrew... looks like a combination of bad info combined with the CAA website being down at the time...have removed that comment from the blog...
Also, thanks for the registration website - very helpful!

Hi Rodney
This might be more of a question for the guys over at the excellent civil aircraft blog http://nzcivair.blogspot.com/.
But are this and ZK-POH the only F27s on the New Zealand register that aren't ex NAC/ANZ or the old Department of Civil Aviation?
Without doing a lot of research I can think of Airwork/NZ Post and RNZAF as operators; any others?
Cheers,
Andrew
