During today's "epic mission" Jason [passenger on the last leg] and I managed to get a few pictures of the local scenery.
All of these pictures are within [roughly] 1 hour flight time, which shows just how much the terrain can change in a short time. Top to bottom, the images are:
Just south of Pukerua Bay [northern Wellington area]
Paekakariki township
Lake Horowhenua [Levin township in the background]
Coastline looking south
Kapiti Island
"Central" Wairarapa area, looking east
"Central" Wairarapa area, looking south-west
Lake Wairarapa looking south to Palliser Bay

Is it just me or do the photos not link as usual? I wanted to take a closer look at some of these.
Hello zkarj,
Yeah, something looks a bit odd here - I'll try and fix it tonight.
Thanks for the heads up.
Cheers,
Rodney
Hello zkarj,
All looks like the images open as they should do. It appears to be a problem with the way that Google's Chrome browser handles images when I move them on the page.
Something that IE is better at [!!], along with Chrome crashing regularly for some reason. Weird!
Cheers,
Rodney
Much better thanks. Good enough that I can correct your captioning - the township you identify as Pukerua Bay is, in fact, Paekakariki. Of note in this shot, the valley behind the nearest ridge is the northern end of the proposed 'Transmission Gully' road corridor.
Thanks :-)
