Classic Fighters 2009 #8: Nanchang CJ6

I quite like the Chinese designed/built Nanchang CJ6. Originally designed as a Chinese military ab-initio trainer, this type has gained in popularity in the west as a fairly inexpensive warbird, and after a short flight in one a couple of months ago, I have to say that it is a nice plane to fly.

Each aircraft has to be westernised somewhat, as the original instruments are all metric. In the westernised versions, at least the altimeter is changed to feet [from meters].

Several members from Wellington Aero Club are looking to form a Nanchang syndicate, so we could see one of these types crossing the ditch in the near future.
